But first...
We are so happy that Dad is back home and that he's recovering from the triple-bypass surgery. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the people who have studied and applied themselves in the medical field. I'm amazed by all the doctors, nurses, technicians and staff who have offered up their time and talents to help take care of my dad, whom they didn't even know... to give him another chance at life. They could have picked something easier to do. They could have dropped out of school. They could have decided it wasn't for them. But they didn't. They chose to work hard and keep on going to school, and keep on going to work. They are angels. It's humbling to me to think that if everyone on the earth were exactly like me, nothing cool like that would ever happen.
I kept thinking about the technology that allows a surgeon to actually go inside and fix a heart. It's incredible. I am also very grateful (and my family is too!) for all of the prayers that have been said in my dad's behalf. I believe in the power of prayer and I know that many people were being mindful of the needs of my dad and our family. One big THANK YOU for all of you. You don't know how much your thoughts and prayers mean to us.
I am also so proud of my sweet mama. She has been an inspiration to me. She steps up to the plate and takes what comes and gives her best. What an amazing girl! All this past week I just kept thinking, "My dad is one lucky guy. He got to marry the best gal in the world!" I'm so proud of both of them. :) And I love how I got to talk to ALL of my siblings every day. My mom and I were talking about how glad we are that there are six of us. It is impossible to imagine our lives without any one of them. You guys are the best. (And I can't believe Greg was a good enough sport to go with me to Bath & Body Works! I think he liked it.)
Anyway, just to update... the boys have taken turns being sick. First Noah. Now Cole. Nathan was sweet enough to stay home with them today so I could go to church and play for sacrament and primary.
The following photos were taken almost two weeks ago. Noah and I met up with some friends at the children's museum here in town. We went a little early to go see the dinosaur exhibit. Noah is crazy about it, even though it's really small. (Little things really excite this boy. Yesterday Nathan gave him a patch from his new uniform, and Noah was so excited he wanted to sleep with it. When he woke up, he came into our room carrying the patch. He's so precious.)
Brooke! This looks just like the one in your photos!
Dad and his little buddy, Noah. They love to work outside together, feeding and watering the cows. It's so cute. And they like to practice using a lasso, too.

Katie, Its an amazing experience to be able to witness a miracle and I think thats exactly what your family did. How very blessed you are to have such a wonderful family and wonderful parents. Our whole ward was pulling for your dad and we are so happy he is going to be okay!
I can relate so much to how you feel about the medical staff. They are truly amazing!! I'm so glad things are going well for your dad. And yes, your mom is one amazing woman! I will keep you all in my prayers!
I am so thankful your dad is doing good and that he is home! It is amazing what is possible with technology and the doctors and of course.... the power of prayer! All of it would not be possibel without our Heavenly Father.
Noah and COle are getting so big and so stinkin cute! Love you!
I am so happy to hear that your dad is doing so well! I pray his recovery continues to go so well!! Your boys are just too cute, all three of them!
Katie, I had no idea about your dad. I am happy to hear that he is recovering well. Bless your heart Katie, that must be so awful to see someone you love so much to have to go through that. I don't speak from experience, but I imagine it is very painful and I will definitely keep your family in my prayers.
WOW! That was so scary! We are so glad that he is home! The boys get bigger every day! So CUTE
I am so glad everything went well with your dad's surgery! I hope he recovers quickly.
I also appreciate that you are grateful that doctors stay in school etc...
It is a very HARD and LONG road and is quickly losing much of the ending benefits (thank you Obama..grrr...). Not that $ is very important, but they are making it harder and harder to even pay off the massive amounts of student loans. Enough of my venting. I'm just glad Jeff loves what he will be doing. That's all that matters.
Your boys are just stinkin cute. Those eyes can get any mom in trouble!
Im so glad that your dad is doing better. I believe in the power of prayer!!! You have such cute boys!
I am SO glad everything is ok with your dad! We were sure praying our guts out for him! The boys are cuter then ever and I agree those brown eyes are trouble!
Wow, Sounds like you have been busy, busy busy. Glad to hear everything is okay now!
I remember feeling the same way about the hospital staff when Adam was in the NICU. Well said.
I'm glad your dad is doing better.
