“Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
“And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
“And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
“Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
“And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

Last night, during bathtime, (Why do these things always happen at bathtime?) Noah was playing with this little rubber fish squirty toy. He squeezed it really hard and it shot clear across the bathroom getting me, the carpet, and even the wall wet. I have to tell him EVERY time he takes a bath NOT to squirt it outside of the tub. So I got mad and yelled, "Noah! How many times have I told you not to squirt water outside the tub!!?? Geesh!!!" And I was definitely not happy about it. I took Cole out of the tub to get him into his pajamas in the bedroom while Noah played in the tub a little longer. While I was putting lotion on Cole, Noah called to me from the bathroom, "Mom? Do you think I'm a bad kid?" And I was surprised by his question. "Of course not, Noah! I think you're a GREAT kid! You're a WONDERFUL kid!" And then came the dreaded response from Noah, "Then why did you yell at me?"
Ouch.
It sure taught me an important lesson. Needless to say, I have some new goals set.
One involves CHILLING OUT!

Wow, that was mild compared to my moments when I lose it. If that's as bad as it gets you should cut yourself some slack. Did you design your header? It's so original. Want to design one for me? :-}
We all have those aha moments. When Brennen was a baby, I got really mad at Tayson for being too rough and making the baby cry (for the millionth time). After explaining (read: yelling) that he was in time-out for making the baby cry, Tayson started spouting crocodile tears and said, "But Mom, you made ME cry." I was humbled and shamed for sure. Don't beat yourself up over it. I'm sure our parents had moments like this with us, and we turned out okay (a matter of opinion, I know).
Tanner reminds me of this on occassion too. He HATES when I get mad at him....so I try really hard to not get super mad, but just patiently talk to him. Complete work in progress though!!! And I am sure it will always be!
For the record... that actually was a MILD instance of me getting mad. VERY mild.
HI ktlady! Doesn't it seem like "mom" should just be another word for "guilt?" Luckily for us moms, kids are pretty quick to forgive. Our monkeys know we love them, thats what matters! You have a great big happy smile, and for your kids that makes all the difference! just keep smilin!
New header = freaky but AWESOME! I love it!
Oh gosh, kids know just the things to say to kick you when your already down!
I need to learn to chill myself! Sometimes I get so fired up over things that don't matter! Like when Crew rubs his mouth when he is eating....then rubs his eyes, and then IT'S EVERYWHERE!! Seriously? Why must that bother me so much?
Answers?
Man, this hits home to me... kids see how we react to stressful situations. I bet 2 hours later while the kids were in bed you thought "How stupid of me to get mad about WATER!".... I know because I am the same way... I lose my cool over stupid stuff.. I am in this fight with you...
Oh, and as a correction, the scripture about was not quoted by President Thomas S. Monson, but rather Matthew, also called Levi, the tax collector :) Just being annoyingly technical as usual.
